Luther’s Battle Cry

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17, NIV84)

We have so many distractions in our lives that take our attention away from the forgiveness and life that God gives through faith and puts it on earth concerns and worries. We get distracted by our own life and accomplishments. The devil leads us to believe that we can achieve salvation on our own, through being good people, without the need for Christ.

If we remember anything this month, as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, let it be this: we are saved by grace through faith. It is Christ who has forgiven all our sins. In him alone we put our trust. If this is what we remind ourselves of daily then we are in good accompany. We stand beside Luther. More importantly, we stand beside Christ.

Your Brother in Christ,

Pastor Don Frelitz

SPECIAL VOTER’S MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 10th

Tiling bids were received and one was unanimously approved by the Church Council. A motion was made and seconded to use the bid approved by the council, at the amount of $4000, to run a 4 inch drain tile around the church and a second 4 inch pipe along the north side of the church to the back lot. Landscaping was approved to be completed later; in the spring of next year.

Christian Estate Planning Assistance

Proper estate planning gives peace of mind, provides for loved ones, minimizes taxes, and can provide an income for life for you or your heirs, as well as a gift to the Lord’s work. Mr. Rick Kneser of the WELS Ministry of Christian Giving, is available to serve you without cost to you or the congregation.  He can assist you in reviewing your current estate plan or developing a new plan.

  • Do you know life insurance passes to children tax free, but tax-deferred retirement funds pass with a tax bill?
  • I already have a will, how often should I review it?
  • Your will may not control who will inherit your 401(k)?
  • Does your spouse automatically have a say in your health care?
  • Are the baptismal sponsors of my children their legal guardians if necessary?

If you would like more information to answer the questions above, you can reach Mr. Kneser at 262-305-7688 or e-mail him at Rick.Kneser@wels.net.  He will be happy to meet with you in your home at a time convenient for you.

BRADLEY CENTER

The volunteer work done at the Bradley Center is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and stewardship. Everyone who participates in these events has the opportunity to work closely with other members of God’s family here at Trinity and create, or strengthen, friendships as we work together to serve Christ. At the same time, the Bradley Center work brings in financial support for our congregation so that we can continue to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community and around the world. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this God given opportunity.

Please see the sign-up sheets in the church entry way if you would like to volunteer. We ask all volunteers to please sign up early. We need a minimum of 12 people.  If we have more than 12 people all the better to get all positions covered.  If you have not already done so you must take the alcohol test to be able to volunteer.

The following are the events we have signed up for this year. Keep an eye out as more events may come in. Come join the fun of working in the stand for basketball, hockey or entertainment events.
